BARRHAVEN THEATRE CLASSES

The Drop in Class is designed to give participants a taste of what a Theatre Adventure class will look like. Our multi-level engagement method is built on four pillars: Play, Explore, Create, and Share, guiding every class through dynamic physical theatre exercises, small-group creations, and sharing sessions where each small group presents what they created to the others.

During the hour children discover the essential elements of theatre: expressive movement, voice projection, collaborative creation, and socialization in a safe and creative environment.

Theatre nurtures self-confidence, well-being, kindness, and active listening, helping each child grow not only as a performer, but also as a person. This drop in session is a good way to explore this complete and multiudisciplinary art form.

Each Drop in Class has a maximum of 15 paricipants.

Meet the Instructor : Marinella Montanari

To learn more about the program and, the method.

As a theatre instructor, Marinella Montanari has dedicated much of her career to working with children and youth through the arts. Beginning in Italy with workshops in schools and underserved communities, she has continually used theatre as a tool for creativity, confidence, and inclusion. Since moving to Montreal, she has expanded her educational practice in Canada, leading programs with the Ottawa Catholic School Board, where she designs theatre workshops on ecology, sustainability, and social themes for elementary and high school students. In every setting, Marinella combines movement, voice, and collaborative creation to nurture empathy, active listening, and personal growth in young learners.
